9 dead as TransAsia Flight GE235 crashed shortly after takeoff and
rushed into Keelung River while en routh from Taipei to Kinmen at around
11am February 4.
53 passengers and 5 crew members were on board. 9 out of 27 passengers in hospital were dead, while dozens were still missing.
31 passengers were tourists from mainland China. 51 were adults, 2 were children under 2 years old.
The flight model, ATR72-600 was the same as TransAsia Flight GE222 which crashed last July and killed 48. The plane has been put into use for about 10 months.
