Gambia was left shining this past weekend after one of Nigeria’s
brightest stars made his debut performance on the Smiling Coast. Wizkid
and his team landed in Banjul International airport on Wednesday night
as part of the 50th Independence Anniversary celebrations. The main
event kicked off on Saturday (28 Feb) in Bakau with six Gambian artists
opening the show.
Amongst them were Bai Babu, Jizzle, T.Smallz and Gee, who came out
during Wizzy’s set to perform a freestyle and one of his singles, chosen
by the Star Boy himself “Demmeh Num fa Demmeh”.
Performing to a crowd of over ten thousand poeple, it was one of the most successful musical events to take place in Gambia’s Independence Stadium. with a set well over an hour long filled with back to back hits.

Not only did the Star Boy spoil fans with his biggest hits, he of course
gave them a rendition of his now famous super Shoki dance moves.
It was
a busy night for his bodyguard as multiple fans managed to climb on
stage to show him love. One of them presented him with a hoodie which -
to everybody’s amazement - Wiz wore for the rest of the concert.
