Other Parameter To Consider

Feedback plays an important role in this equation, the website have to eye a position on searches for information similar to what the site contains, solicit comments from users of other types of computers and browsers, make sure the links on Kontz site aren't sending visitors to old content, obsolete URL's, and study the statistics it receive from server statistics and listings of referrers that it can get from other sources.

Getting Indexed

One of the biggest races on the web, is the desire to get indexed, or listed in the results pages of website search engines at or near the top of the results pages for particular search requests. The most vociferous battles rage over popular search items like the words mp3, sex and so on. Needless to say, the search engines have noticed the battle and become rather annoyed at the tricks used by webmasters to get their sites listed higher than others.

Even if your site is not a common sort, you are likely to be affected by the measures search engines have taken to eliminate 'spam' from their indexes of webpage content. The open text indexing process is really a simple one, and here is how it should work:
  1. Submit your main, front page URL by visiting the AddURL page at the SE.
  2. Engine checks if the page exists and schedules it for indexing.
  3. Indexing program called a 'robot', 'bot' or 'spider' visits the site.
  4. Bot reads robots.txt file on your server to see what it may be forbidden to index.
  5. Bot loads the first document it was sent for and notes it's title.
  6. Bot may check for document language and/or character set, last modified and expiry meta information.
  7. Bot checks for controls, keywords and (maybe) descriptions in the meta tags.
  8. Bot may read all text or just the first few paragraphs of text instead, to summarize or store the 'content'.
  9. Bot may also check any other allowed documents that appear as local links from the first and succeeding pages, called 'spidering'.
  10. Bot saves information (nouns, word or phrase list) for entry into the search engine database (indexing).
  11. Database indexer catalogs words and rates site based on relevancy of the frequency, positions and words recorded, and it's content rating.
  12. Relevancy may also be affected by website name, path names and the filename of the document.
  13. Site appears somewhere in search results listings for relevant words and phrases.
  14. Bot may schedule a revisit if instructions are given in meta tags, or not, as it pleases.

Samsung Has Three New Smartwatches — Including One That Curves Around Your Wrist

The real surprise here is the release of the Gear Fit. With the device, Samsung makes the leap into the super-popular world of fitness bands. The big news here is the inclusion of a curved AMOLED display, which brings smartphone notifications to the front and wraps around your wrist more naturally.

Samsung wants your wrist again, like it did last summer. Yeah, it wants your wrist again. Like it did last year.
Back in September, Samsung took its first dive into wrist-worn wearables with the Galaxy Gear. A mere six months later, the company is back with not one but three follow-ups: the Galaxy Gear 2, the Galaxy Gear 2 Neo and the Galaxy Gear Fit.
That’s two smartwatches and a wrist-worn fitness band, extending Samsung’s wearable reach into the realm currently dominated by fitness trackers the likes of Fitbit and Nike’s Fuelband.

Samsung’s smartwatches connect to your smartphone via low-power Bluetooth connectivity and can both deliver notifications from your phone to the watch and let you perform certain activities from your wrist on your phone. The first Galaxy Gear was criticized for its lack of performable functions and lackluster battery, which Samsung hopes it has addressed with these three follow-ups.

Move Big Files Lightning Fast in Windows 8 with TeraCopy

Visualization expert Rick Van-over says Tera-copy is an easy and great way to easily move big files. Get details about Tera-copy in his review.

In my data center practice, I'm occasionally stuck moving very large files. There was a time when it was rare that I'd see a file larger than a CD or DVD's capacity, but nowadays, I often see multi-terabyte files. There are a couple of reasons why this is the case.

In my professional virtualization practice, I advocate for people to transition to disk-based backups. The other part of this is my emerging practice of working with Hyper-V virtual machines. For me, I'm always moving things around in Hyper-V, and files like a VHD or VHDX disk are actually quite large--much like that of the disk-based backup world.

Simply using Windows Explorer, PowerShell, Robocopy, or the now quite dated RichCopy are good, but myself and others in the virtualization community have come to fancy TeraCopy. It's free for non-commercial use, so it's very easy to try. The paid version, TeraCopy Pro, comes with additional features.

How to use TeraCopy

TeraCopy installs very easily and can optionally be added to the right-click context of Windows systems, which is how I recommend using it. After this is complete, a TeraCopy job can be done as shown in Figure A. (TeraCopy supports Windows 8 x64. The example in this article is Windows Server 2012 R2. Click the images to enlarge them.)

How To Improve Services & Clients Patronage

"To keep customers coming back, businesses must have excellent customer service and strive to improve at all times"

For a business to succeed and to keep customers coming back while attracting more patronage, experts say it requires an excellent customer service. They add that, no matter how good the service is, there is the need for it to be improved upon regularly. Doing so will prevent them from inadvertently causing their customers to patronize their competitors, thereby reducing their chances of survival and growth.

"One common principal held by ALL world-class companies is a recognition of the customer as  most important asset"

Companies who have used such a principal to increase market share, increase profits, and strengthen their competitive amour. Excellence in customer service, apart form being an effective competitive tool, provides a powerful way to align all of one's key organizational processes to achieve synergy - irrespective of whether or not the organization is for-profit or not-for-profit.

Patronage concentration is a term used in marketing. It is the share of an individual consumer's expenditures in an industry that is spent at one company. It is the amount that a person spends at one company divided by the amount that person spends at all companies in the industry.

Understand obstacles customers face

According to him, many managers forget (or don’t know) what it is like to be a customer of their own business.

To do this, he stresses that observation is important.

“Watch your customers’ movements and behaviour when they are in your organization. Are they visibly annoyed? Do they stand in line, looking at their watch? Can you tell by their body language that they would rather be somewhere else? Do your front-line staff seem attentive to their needs? Gather this information as you go about your daily tasks,” he explains.

The following tips were among five recommended by Forbes Magazine Contributor, Sunday Steinkirchner, in an article published in 2012:

Be available

If a customer can’t get hold of you when they need to, you could lose them forever. We recently changed both our insurance provider and web developer, and the decisions were based on availability and accountability. With the new companies, we get the owner on the phone every time, and they’re there day or night if a catastrophe happens. In our own business, we value face-to-face interaction with customers, which is often a rarity these days. Whether it’s traveling across the country for trade shows or taking time for a quick coffee or Skype session, our strongest relationships are with the customers we know personally and keep in contact with regularly.

Offer knowledge

Building strong relationships with our customers is great, but we also get to offer and trade knowledge with them. In our trade, a customer can compare several competing copies of a book online, but they won’t get a conversation about the title’s complicated printing history. When we’re speaking with customers, we spend the majority of time talking about the merchandise itself, trends in the market, and the customer’s own collecting habits. Afterward, we negotiate a deal. A customer can even know more than you do on a particular topic! Take advantage of this opportunity to learn more.

Trade shows are another great way you can offer knowledge to your customers. Organize seminars with expert speakers to draw potential customers interested in your product or services.
