The Head Coach of Nigeria’s U20 team, the Flying Eagles, Manu Garba,
has said that the ongoing Super Four Tournament in Abuja will help him
determine his final choice of players for the African Youth
Championships billed for Senegal in March.
In a chat with PREMIUM TIMES in Abuja on Monday, the coach said the
provisional squad will be selected after the tournament and they will be
the ones to play the International Friendly with Ghana.
“As soon as this competition finishes, we will know who will make the
country proud, the competition will determine the bulk of players that
will go for the AYC,” he said.
The 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup winning coach confirmed that the Flying
Eagles will play Ghana both at home and away before they head out for
the AYC.
The 2105 AYC will hold between 8 and 22nd of March this year, Nigeria is in Group A with host, Senegal, Congo and Ivory Coast.
Nigeria has won the tournament a record six times but the last triumph was in 2011.
